That means that the job market for paralegals is sure to go up!

The need for legal services in times good and bad means that there will always be a need for paralegals. The U.S. government’s Bureau of Labor Statistics estimates that the job market for paralegals will expand by 28% in the coming years, meaning that there is high demand for more paralegals. In particular, the job prospects for educated paralegals specializing in environmental, corporate, medical malpractice, and bankruptcy law is sure to continue growing.

This trend is a result of the poor U.S. economy as businesses and legal firms need to cut costs. Many of these companies are replacing lawyers with paralegals, which means that the job market won’t just expand, but paralegals are also doing many of the jobs that were once done by lawyers.

It will continue to be, however, a competitive field as more people go into the profession. That makes qualifications such as education, certification, and experience an ever more important part of becoming a paralegal.
